Exposition Manger ensemble!

Lunch time in primary school

Visitor of the Exhibition, Capitale-Nationale, Québec

During lunch in primary school, I often carried something a little different. Perhaps rice instead of bread, wrapped with a translucent sheet of roasted seaweed, brushed with sesame oil, and finished with salt. It was a familiar delight, sometimes a pairing requirement in my Korean meals, but I soon rejected it in response to the scrunched faces of my peers. I had a socio-culinary dilemma that persisted many years. It was, perhaps, so persistent until the exotic became novelty or, maybe also, until the exotic was no longer so.
