Jourdain-Fiset family dining room.

Dining room

The neoclassic style of these luxurious dining room furniture pieces and table accessories, which were passed down from generation to generation, reveals the extent of the British influence on the French Canadian bourgeoisie of the 19th and 20th centuries. When the Musée de la civilisation acquired the Fonds Jourdain-Fiset – Gabriel Miller in 1993, the items were still in use. They were placed just as they are in this photograph.

To the right of the photograph, on the serving table, is the silver kettle that appeared in the previous photograph.
