Labrador tea

Labrador tea, Ledum groenlandicum, is of great importance to the First Nations peoples. The plant is mainly used for medicinal purposes as an herbal tea. Ungava gourmande of Chibougamau makes a range of products, including Labrador tea jelly, from the plants indigenous to the Nord-du-Québec region. The company labels all of its items in Cree, in homage to the vast knowledge of edible plants and fruits that the First Nations peoples possess.
